All School Reunion 2010
The citizens of Scott County have been interested in educating their children for over 120 years. Education has evolved from humble beginnings to the grandeur you see before you today. From a tiny dugout, to a sod hut, vacant buildings and homes, to the little white school houses dotting the prairie, the four-room red brick school house with the belfry on top, all the way to the 136,000 square foot building that is now home to future generations.
The 2010 All School Reunion is celebrating 50 years of High School Musicals

1885 - September 11th: The town was started by Mrs. Maria DeGeer and three men: Swan, Mclain and Case, who formed a town company and each person donated 40 acres. One of the first functions of the Town Company of Scott City after it organized and incorporated was to donate block 15 of the original townsite for school purpose. This particular spot had been the first cemetery, so the bodies were excavated and moved to the present cemetery location. The boys played hide and seek using the unfilled gravesites as hiding places.
